Welcome to my site! My name is Kelsey, a wife living in Tennessee and dog mom of 3. I love all things gardening, baking, cooking, and learning the homestead mindset. My hope for this site is to help others along the journey of becoming more self-sufficient and relying less on store bought items.
There’s not a lack of information out there in the world when it comes to homesteading. When I first started on this journey, I was overwhelmed with the amount of information and even more confused when every suggestion and idea of doing something this way had another suggestion or idea of exactly why NOT to do it that way. I decided, in all the daily research and trial and errors I do, to try to simplify things as best I can for people that are like me, just trying to find the steps to a more self-sufficient life.
The homesteading way of life is not a simpler or more convenient one. It requires you to put in effort, time, and attention- but it is a more satisfying way of life and a peace of mind knowing whatever happens in the world, you will always be able to provide for yourself and your family. The times we live in are more about convenience and speed. Homesteading to me is about slowing down, a healthier, holistic way of living, knowing every ingredient that you are consuming, and making things you need from items already around the home rather than the quick same-day delivery that is so readily available at everyone’s fingertips. It’s about knowledge and skills and wasting less.
My hope is that you will learn from my mistakes and my wins. Everything posted on this site are things I have personally tried myself along with what I learned along the way to help you make the best decision for your own journey.
